The food is really good here, and the prices are amazing. The trade off is that you may have to wait a lot longer to get service and food as they run the restaurant with a limited staff. I do not recommend making an urgent appointment right after scheduling to eat here. I love all the salt and pepper dishes I've tried the salt and pepper squid, fish, and tofu. All are delish!! Looking forward to heading back! View all feedback.
What Norma Sanchez doesn't like about R House Huá Yáng:
Long story short: food= fairly good, problem= black mold all over the ceiling that gave me a headacheCame and it was late and fairly empty. Waitress was talking to a customer so we sat ourselves and noticed our table was dirty so we moved to another one. Steamed dumplings were delicious, kung pao chicken had great flavor, but was dry, orange chicken was slightly overcooked, but had a good flavor. Overall food wasn't... View all feedback.
Braised tofu was salty. Sate beef Noodles was acceptable nothing. Likely won’t come back.
This is a painful place to review. Before the pandemic it was our favorite restaurant in Chinatown and we went every weekend for a year, and never thought of trying anywhere else. It was absolutely the best combination of quality and price we could find. Then the pandemic hit and staff were laid off and the focus became on delivery and pick up orders and, in short, they did what they had to do to survive. The service eventually became so slow that for us it was intolerable, and we went elsewhere. We tried them again for the first time in a year, maybe even two years, last night. Same hard working, friendly faces, but also the same short staffing and an absurdly long wait time. The food is still good, though not as good as I remember, and the prices are still the best for what you get. The beef brisket and tendon clay pot is my favorite dish at R House and it still beats any I have tried elsewhere. If you have more time than money, R House is a good bet, but if you think time is money, we choose House of Bowls.

They serve very good authentic Chinese Cantonese style cuisine. The taste of the food is exceptional even without the MSG per our request.Parking: Not many parking spots available for a Saturday night.
One of the best hole-in-the-wall-ish place with great food, big portions, and reasonable prices. Give it a try!
