What Sasha Mason doesn't like about The Thatch:
When we arrived there, we were asked to wait as table not ready, but instead to be shown in a warmer area, we left in the bar where the garden door was ever more open, which was so cold. not offered water for table. scallop were beautiful, although for 13.00 only 3! everything else was in order and will return View all feedback.
The Thatch, has been on the TV, as one of the venues for Raymond Blancs chef series.
My friends and I returned for an early supper for a new year gathering. Great service, fab food. Such a lovely private space for us. And we got to use our vouchers from our previous visit!
We had the best Sunday roast lunch we can remember. Brilliant service. We sat in the old part of the building. Roast beef served to order with endless Yorkshire and roasts and gravy and greens. Worth the hour drive from London and then some.
I booked a table for 5 and my phone call was taken with a good energy and attitude. We turned up 10 minutes early to receive a warm welcome. The food was excellent. The timing between each dish was good also. We had a great time and were at no time swayed to leave. If you are considering a visit, make a booking, you will be delighted with the outcome.
The Thatch was VERY busy all tables full with families and groups of friends. The service was cheerful, professional and prompt, and the food was delicious. Unlike some pubs, when busy, where the staff want you to leave as soon as you've finished eating, to make room for more guests, staff here were very obliging. Seeing that our family group were exchanging presents, we were asked if we'd like a break between courses which was very thoughtful. As a result we had a very enjoyable time.
