This restaurant has incredible food, especially the Backyard Burger, and their onion rings and fried pickles are delicious! It’s never crowded, which honestly puzzles me. It's Terrell's best-kept secret. Everything I’ve tried has been great, except for the Monte Cristo.
The speakers at the sports bar kept malfunctioning, and with the Cowgirls not playing, that was really the only positive thing about the place. Our food arrived cold, and by the time the waitress came to check on us, we were already ready to leave. The burger would have been tasty if it had been warm, and while the fries looked good, they were also served cold. I don’t plan to return.
The visit started off a bit slowly, which initially gave me a less-than-ideal impression, but it's important to remember that in a slow restaurant, the service might not be at its best. Fortunately, things improved by the time our food arrived. The menu featured only a few choices for hamburgers, mainly double meat 'smash' patties. Given that the price included fries, I expected them to be two thin patties that would leave me wondering why I didn’t just go for fast food. I was pleasantly surprised! Instead, we received two juicy, thick, house-made burgers accompanied by a generous serving of fries. My wife ordered the Louisville chicken sandwich, which was lightly battered and featured juicy, tender breast meat, also made in-house. We would happily order both again. I just wish they had one of these restaurants in Houston! The service ultimately turned out to be great too. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience.
We entered the restaurant and waited for more than six minutes—perhaps even longer—without receiving any service. Two groups arrived after us and were served before we were. Even though we were sitting right across from the bar, it took quite a while for someone to finally notice us. In the end, we decided to leave without eating. Sadly, this has been our experience every time we've visited; the service is consistently lacking. On the positive side, the food is really good.
