What machinmad doesn't like about Yates:
We'd done our favourite walk along the sea-front from Frinton to Walton and were looking forward to our fish n chips at Yates. But for some reason they got it horribly wrong on this occasion. It took over half an hour to cook my piece of plaice (nobody else was queuing during that time) and when I unwrapped it, the fish batter was rock hard and over cooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside. Excellent food and service. for some years we are here and yates can never deliver good quality fish and chips.

Everything was so delicious, fresh and hot, cooked right in front of them. the chips were the best chips and the personal is very courteous and very friendly. the prices are very good! the fish is so fresh and tasty and the teig is amazing.
Once we got it, it was nice to eat, but it took almost 25 minutes to get it. place was busy, but there were no signs that it would be as long as we ordered. only to say that eating was very nice.
Always lovely food here. Cooked to perfection. Always nice and hot.
