Celebrity Bagels - Tenafly

I was recommended this place through a family member who's a longtime Bergen county resident and decided to stop in today to try them out. As someone who's Jersey born and raised, I'm picky about my bagels and always want them to be thick, fluffy, and doughy. Texture is everything when it comes to good bagels, at least by my measure.That said, I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel, and it was pretty good! Bagel was nice, soft, and chewy, and the sausage was good, just could've been a bit thicker in my opinion. I'll be honest and say that it's definitely not the best bagel I've ever had in New Jersey, and the price point is rather high in my opinion $7.75) because I can get the same sandwich at Eli's in Towaco, NJ for about $5 and change, but if you need a solid bagel, this is definitely a good choice.As far as service goes, I had a pretty neutral experience, so I can't verify nor deny the multiple negative reviews claiming this issue. I called this order in and was able to place my pickup order pretty quickly after being placed politely on a brief hold, so no major hiccups or issues on that end. Upon actual pickup, the staff seemed relatively friendly if not a little indifferent, but no outwardly negative energy. I suppose this might depend on time of day and busyness though. I might visit again and will update this review should I run into any new information.

Updated review, bagel itself is good (not including the abysmal amount of cream cheese inside or anything else that’s never done right). However customer service is the worst. At one point it was all great, seemed like new management but now they have reverted back to their old ways. One tall lady just staring into the air not helping anyone, the other older lady needing help from 4 people to get a few bagels together. And everyone else in between looking dazed and confused. This place needs to just keep the bagel maker and get all new staff. Maybe clean the inside and remodel. Put some real cold cuts, cutlets, salads and nice looking fridge together.

Always giving me ugly bagels. The size is mini bagel size and the shape is terrible. They should improve their skills.

Its an ok place just to get a quick bite to go. the bagel i got was rock hard and the person handling my bagel sure doesnt like to wear gloves i guess. handling money and bagels without washing hands. thanks.
