What OpenTable Diner doesn't like about El Hefe:
It was not crowded but the music was super loud. The service was awful we waited and waited for our food which was just fair. Worst vday date ever. Thank goodness she decided to go out with me again. View all feedback. What Megusta likes about El Hefe:
Food was some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in quite a while. Only complaint was the loud rap music and the drunk guy dancing up and down the aisles. That being said, I understand we’re near a college campus so I get who the primary market is. Service was great and tacos and queso were amazing so this old guy would come back despite the music! I love their tacos and their margaritas. I really didn't think I liked Tacos until I tried them! Taco Tuesday is the best in this place!
Food was awesome. Wish i had more choices but overall great place. The blueberry margarita was on point.
The Spicy Marg was delicious The burrito bowl was fresh! I also appreciated the yelp check in salsa freebie.
Tacos! Isn't that what it's all about? I got the three taco special, which came with a choice of a sideThe black beans were excellent.
Pros: Great Music Good Looking People Great Location Excellent Layout Cons: Biased Door Policy **** Security Inhumane Bathroom

While some customers have complained about the authenticity of the Mexican cuisine and the loud music, others have raved about the quality of the food, especially the tacos and queso. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including a huge burrito that has received high praise for its size and flavor. Customers have also enjoyed the generous hospitality of the staff, who have gone above and beyond to ensure a great dining experience. With a mix of positive and negative reviews, El Hefe seems to cater more towards a younger crowd, particularly college students and those in their 30s, looking for a fun place to eat and drink. The restaurant also offers a lively environment for special occasions like Taco Tuesday and game days for sports fans. Overall, El Hefe is worth a visit for those looking for a vibrant dining experience in Tempe.
