We live locally in Totnes. We visited early evening and had 5 portions of chips ,battered sausage fish. The chips were simply all small crispy bits.No whole chips at all. The fish(well what there was of it) looked like it had been battered twice to make it look bigger. The batter must have been at least 1/2 inch thick on both the fish sausage and thats without exaggerating!! The staff were very miserable and looked like they didn't want to be there. We don't mind paying a fair price for decent food but this was just terrible and a waste of money. If we hadn't driven to the moors to eat our meal we would have taken them back for a refund. We will be going to Buckfastleigh from now on where they know what fish chips should look like. I suggest you save your money and do the same. to sum up JUST TERRIBLE
I stayed nearby for a week and visited the Red Mullet twice. The food quality was excellent. I would definitely recommend it.
The Red Mullet has been our whole family’s favourite fish chip shop… so much so… we have fish chip Fridays. We while heartily recommend.
The food at this restaurant is fantastic, cooked and served by the friendly owner and their family. I highly recommend it.
We have been regulars at the Red Mullet in Ashburton for years. The food is always excellent - perfectly cooked chips, fresh fish, and crispy batter. The service is outstanding. We will definitely continue to dine here for many more years. Highly recommend.
