Old Pottery - Teignbridge
Old Pottery
Description
Nestled just a stone's throw away from the main road, this restaurant offers a mix of experiences that leave diners with contrasting impressions. While many appreciate the friendly staff and welcoming ambiance, others have voiced concerns over the limited and sometimes uninspired menu items, including overcooked pasta and stale sandwiches. The introduction of QR codes for orders has also drawn criticism for complicating the ordering experience. Nevertheless, loyal patrons cherish the delightful dinners, such as well-executed specials and thoughtful touches during events like Valentine’s Day. Ultimately, the restaurant remains a hit for some while enigmatic for others.

Lovely food and good service at both coffee time and then later lunch. We we went on a Monday, not expecting it to be busy, however there were lots of people there.
Busy restaurant but excellent service and menu. Fascinating museum, active glassblowing workshop and a shop selling old fashioned games, specialist pottery and glass, limited edition wooden furniture and clothing.
We had lunch here as part of our visit to house of marbles, really enjoyed our sandwiches- not particularly cheap but full of fillings and nice to sit in the garden with the dog too!
Stopped for tea and cake late afternoon. Staff not very welcoming as tables had been cleared and it seemed they did not welcome further visitors. Cakes poor quality and expensive. Could be so much better.
After reading the reviews I was unsure but we went tonight and had the best time and delicious food, the staff were very friendly and polite , the place was very clean , so don’t always believe negative reviews you always get someone who needs to moan with nothing better to do, I go to a lot of restaurants and this is one of my favourites, so I’d give it 5 Thankyou for a lovely time x
