We enjoyed a lovely afternoon relaxing in the spa, followed by tea by the fire. This wasn't our first visit, and we will certainly return again.

My friend and I came to this restaurant for a champagne afternoon tea that was a gift from my daughter. I have enjoyed afternoon teas at other places before, but unfortunately, this one did not live up to my expectations. The staff was present, but it was difficult to get their attention when we needed something. The cost of the tea per person was reasonable, but the overall experience should have been exceptional. Attention to detail was lacking as we had to ask for items like napkins and spoons to eat the desserts. The sandwiches were not fresh when they arrived and had dried out by the time we finished, so saving a few was a mistake. Parking was easy at first, but we had to squeeze into the last spot available. It wasn't a bad experience, but it was disappointing compared to previous visits. Overall, I appreciate the gesture from my daughter, but I don't think the afternoon tea was worth it.

A superb dining experience within a stunning restaurant with spectacular views and wonderful staff. Couldn’t of asked for more. My young sons cheese on toast starter was a fab and unique addition to a menu and it was delicious too.

Was expecting a relaxed but refined experience with some quality food. The reality is a nice setting with good service but food more like a mid to low end chain restaurant you’d find on any high street. A real disappointment; hot venison meatballs with cold (fridge cold) romesco sauce was odd, cold soggy focaccia and bland pizza not good with a Caesar Salad which, apart from the hot chicken, seemed to have been prepared sometime earlier in the day. All in all not good and at odds with the rest of the Bovey Castle experience.
