The Old Forge Kitchen - Te Aroha
The Old Forge Kitchen
Description
Nestled in a scenic location, this restaurant offers a vibrant ambiance but has received varied feedback on its culinary offerings. Guests have expressed disappointment over the food quality, notably citing overpriced and bland dishes, with complaints about overcooked ingredients and flies. However, some diners have praised the friendly service and inviting atmosphere, emphasizing the delightful coffee and beautiful gardens. While certain dishes like the Eggs Benedict and lasagna garnered high marks, the inconsistency in food quality suggests a need for improvement. Overall, while service shines, the kitchen needs to elevate its game to match the welcoming environment.

Stopped for a cuppa on the Te aroha to Matamata bike trail. Has bike parking. Plenty of car parking. Caters for events and seem very well organised as the were expecting a big group. Still had plenty of room in their lovely garden out the back.
Couldn't fault our meals. Hash stack for hubby and sweetcorn fritters with bacon for me. Presentation awesome. Very quick to get out. Lovely hot tea with teapot.
Nice meals. Expensive for what you get. The restaurant is very noisy, could do with some acoustic buttons. Lovely service girls. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: NZ$40–50 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2
