**Applebee's Dining Experience: A Mixed Bag**
Applebee's offers diners a familiarity that can be hit or miss. While some find solace in standard dishes like the chicken cheese penne and various platters, others lament overcooked pasta and missing ingredients. Service inconsistencies plague the experience, with long waits and inaccuracies overshadowing pleasant encounters with attentive staff. Yet, appreciation arises for efforts to resolve complaints and improve situations. Ultimately, the establishment struggles under the weight of its shortcomings, highlighting that basic meals and efficient service are not always guaranteed, leaving customers questioning the value of their dining experience. A drive to nearby locations might be warranted for better food.

Regarding my delivery order, I had requested the chicken cheese penne and breadsticks. Unfortunately, I didn't receive the breadsticks at all. The pasta, on the other hand, was overcooked to the point of being mushy. If there was any seasoning in the sauce, it was completely overwhelmed. It seemed like the cook took the pasta straight out of the water and dumped it into the sauce without draining it, resulting in a watery, starchy mixture. The final dish resembled the paste we made in second grade art class. Now, onto my current experience, which inspired this review. I’m currently a patient at Taylor Medical Center, where I had their chicken cheese penne pasta. Remarkably, it was far superior to what I had from Applebee's. This is hospital food, which is generally on a level I would compare to military rations or MREs. After my first bite, I was reminded just how terrible the penne from Applebee's was. It's shocking that they charge customers for such poorly prepared food. With such blatant incompetence in the kitchen and a complete lack of quality control, I’m baffled as to how this place remains in business. One would think that the poor quality would drive away customers, or that the franchise would have pulled the license and closed the restaurant by now. In my opinion, this establishment is a serious contender for the worst restaurant in Taylor, Hutto, or anywhere within a 25-mile radius.
Disclaimer: I'm not a big fan of chain restaurants especially those with an open bar and loud music. Applebee's provides simple meals for ok prices. Food fine, dessert fine. All went as expected.
We had a bit of a wait to be seated, which was surprising since the restaurant wasn't full. There was only one person managing both the bar and seating, which caused the delay. Once we were seated, it still took a little while for someone to come take our orders. However, the food was excellent!
Our local Applebee's has had some struggles the last year or so and have literally walked out because we didn't get any service after waiting 30 minutes and after waiting 45 minutes and no food but today service was on point, with limited options for eating out in Taylor we continue to give them the chance to improve
