Cafebarge - TARBERT

What a fun time we had for a late lunch today. My family, all 11 of us, showed up on a lazy Sunday (Father's Day) without a reservation. Mike (the owner) told us he could accommodate us after 45 minutes. We came back and sat at long table made up of 4 smaller tables. The interior of the barge is very informal and basic but made more intimate since the kitchen is one end of the dining area. The menu is tapas style and daily specials were primarily local seafood including lobster, langoustines, scallops, and prawns. We literally sampled everything on the menu. The food was superb, much better than we expected given the informal setting. Mike, the chef and the young woman assisting with tables were very welcoming and pleasant and took time to explain some of the local menu items. Dessert was equally tasty. We're going back for another meal later in the week!

Enjoyed our meal here, simple decor,good food, sevice and presentation. nice atmosphere in a unique setting, will go again and recommend freinds and family likewise

Great choice of vegetarian food, as well as local seafood. Staff and service were excellent. Will defiantly return if in the area again.
