NADAI FUJISOBA - Taguig

Tucked in the long rows of shops and restaurants on this High Street is a smallish Japanese restaurant where we went for dinner. The menu showed photos of the large variety of dishes available which facilitated the choice of those of us who were not familiar with Japanese cuisine. Service was rapid, friendly and helpful. I loved the blown-up almost spontaneous drawings and calligraphy on the walls in keeping with the relaxed atmosphere of the place.

The decor is more interesting than the food itself; however, there is a definite value for money. The food is tasty and the combos are a great idea.

The inside is quite unassuming, but all tables were mostly taken. Service is fast and clients come in and out after their meals with a pleasing look. We glossed over the menus and feeling unfamiliar with the dishes; we asked the lady wait staff. Unfortunately, either she’s new on her job or perhaps not well-informed about the menus. On impulse, I tried Katsu Don set with Kake Udon. The udon served cold, was soft on the outside but al dente on the inside. There is a burst of taste and flavor once it is dipped in the sauce before eating. The additional panko fried pork with Kokohu Rice was not exciting at all. My partner’s order of Ebi Tendon with Mori Udon was flavorsome, she claimed. The udon in a stock soup with seaweeds was delicious and so with the crispness of the shrimp tempura. She declared that the dish had an unacquainted taste, maybe, that’s umami.Several soba/udon were on the menu with different condiments that look exciting, but that will be on the next visit. If you are craving for a good soba and tempura then this is the place to visit to enjoy their generous portion of soba rich in flavor & spices! Truly your money's worth! Now I can have my ramen craze friends over!

I expected more from this restaurant being in BGC and had a nice selection list in their menu. I asked for their best sellter but it turned out just average in taste.
