Delicious food, excellent price, diversity of side dishes, generosity in serving water from the tap, delicious wine from Tuscany

The location of Züttel is unbeatable. On the one hand it is literally one step away from Gerolfingen railway station (trains run every 30 mins to Biel). On the other hand this side of Lake Biel offers very scenic sunset views. Therefore you can enjoy a leisurely sunset stroll before dinner. The Gourmetstübli part of the restaurant is quite cozy. Tables are kept spotlessly clean thanks to the efficient staff. As starter I opted for red tuna with fennel and olive oil: well seasoned and much flavour, but the portion could have been more generous. This was followed by the house specialty Eglifilets mit Gourmetbutter (perch fillet sautéed with the house own sauce). It was truly delicious: the fish was tender and the butter sauce to die for. As dessert I chose the Grossis gebrannte Creme . Please note: Although it can be translated as Crème Brûlée, this is the Swiss version i.e. it is served without the usual sugar crust but with whipped cream instead. The Sauvignon Blanc wine was rich and fruity. Along with soda water, the bill amounted to CHF96 definitely on the upper scale of Swiss standards but well worth it. A special thanks to the waitress for her efficient service during the entire dinner. She regularly asked each table individually whether everything was okay a much appreciated gesture.
