The best Brussels sprouts in Syracuse! Other than the sprouts, there's something on the ABB menu for everyone. All off the food features robust unique flavor pairings. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable about the menu so, if you have questions, don't be afraid to ask. The atmosphere is very welcoming reflects the nature of the food. Not flashy, not basic, just comforting and well executed. I'd bet my bottom dolla... View all feedback.
What Cassandra Montressor doesn't like about Anything But Beer:
This spot was okay. I don’t drink, but my coworkers got some beverages and, other than the wine, were not happy with how sweet they were. The food was okay. I got the Buffalo wings, which I will say are like a hot wing not Buffalo sauce. I let my brother try them (I brought them home because I couldn’t eat them) and he loves spicy things! He even agreed if he ordered Buffalo he would not expect something with as much... View all feedback.
Haven 't been in this building for a long time and I always remembered it as being beautiful and the new owners have done a wonderful job of resorting the space. Especially love the original floors that they have uncovered. I 'm not a vegan, vegetarian or gluten free so I did some homework before I came to see what I would like from the menu. Some of my fellow lunch mates ordered appetizers so I got to try the pickled vegetables and lentil chili with potato wedges. I thought the pickled vegetables were great and especially liked the pickles! The lentil chili was good but a little bland and the wedges were crisp and ok. For my main dish I ordered the Mac and cheese with a side of bacon jam. I thought the Mac and cheese was creamy and good and the bacon jam was great! I really liked my drink which was called Fired Up it was cinnamon apple, semi-sweet hot cinnamon and cloves. If you like red hots candies (which I love) you will love this drink!!! Very pleasant experience for lunch! Spoke to one of the owners after lunch and she was telling us the history of the building that it was H.J Howes jewelry store originally.
Wasn 't a fan. I 've never had Salt potatoes but these were *burned* and I don 't think they were supposed to be. The blueberry ketchup that comes with it was the consistency of water. The pickle shareable claimed it had pickled fruit, which was the reason we ordered it since we were curious what fruit gets pickled, and were sorely disappointed that there was none to be had, but that next week there would be . The chicken sausage entree 's portion size was unbelievably small and didn 't even come with a side salad to make up for the fact that it was $23-$25. The Cuban and the turkey/apple sandwiches came on plantain tostones which sounded great as an alternative to a bun, but when they arrived, they were burnt on the edges and completely inedible due to having no moisture what 's so ever and we 're so hard you could barely bite through it--no amount of sauce could have solved this issue. The fries were crisp, but seemed to have been cooked in oil that wasn 't hot enough and then cooked longer to get the crunch but this meant the fluffy insides of a fry one expects was no where to be found. The sweet potato fries seem to be double-battered but somehow the sweet potato underneath was also overfried while the batter/breading on the outside seemed to somehow be undercooked. The saving grace of the meal was the cashew cheesecake with cherry compote which was actually pretty good we all shared. There were flights of seltzers and beer to be had, of course, which were fun to taste (Fired Up tastes like apple cider), but overall the experience left something to be desired. The place was almost completely empty of patrons when we got there, and when we left.
If you are looking for unique flavors, you got it. To appreciate sip the water or your flavor pallet will be confused. Our bartender and server were the best
I don’t usually leave reviews, but our experience at this restaurant was terrible. While the food was good, the service was awful. There was a total of 6 tables, including our party in the restaurant. Our drinks and meals were very slow to come out. When our food finally came out, the server realized that she forgot to put in one of the orders. She did apologize and admitted to her mistake; however, it was both concerning and amazing to me that it only took 5 minutes to put the missing order together after the rest of the meal was painstakingly slow to come out. Also, there is no kids menu, so not really a family friendly place.
