When I arrived in Sylvan Lake, my first stop was Pier 7. I was intrigued by the name and assumed it was located by the water, making it a great choice. Although it is actually across the street from the water, the view of the lake from the second-level patio was still nice (even though I didn't sit there myself). When I arrived in Sylvan Lake, my first stop was Pier 7. I was intrigued by the name and assumed it was located by the water, making it a great choice. Although it is actually across the street from the water, the view of the lake from the second-level patio was still nice (even though I didn't sit there myself). Despite it being a beautiful, sunny day with all other patios in town open, Pier 7 was not opening theirs until the following day. Not wanting to sit inside, I opted for a bowl of Seafood Chowder and a quick glass of wine. The chowder was tasty, although I had to request for it to be heated up, and the wine was reasonably priced. With daily specials on meals, appetizers, and drinks, I plan to return to try more of their offerings, making sure to sit on the patio next time.
Service was good but the menu was poor. Had the dry ribs teriyaki and fries. Salty. The waitresses brought me tiger pawns which were good.
Avoid this place at all costs! The food is nowhere near the standard you would expect from a reputable restaurant.
