This picturesque hole-in-the-wall restaurant can easily be missed by the untrained eye. but for someone who conjures the streets of sydney on a Friday night to eat, my man and I had to keep our eyes open to find a place to eat. We found this place for happiness. they have limited seats and the place is a bit cramped, but this is expected from a Japanese restaurant. because it was a bit cramped, the place had this intimate feeling. her menu had a good selection of food. I live very close to umami and have eaten there at least times in the past few months. If that alone isn't testament enough then continue reading. As I said I've eaten there many times and during those visits I've sampled a large variety of the menu and it's all consistently delicious and the Staff are great! Definitely check this place out, I would recommend the Karaage Don or Tempura Udon.
Brilliant food. Best miso soup I've had in a long time. Advertised as casual Japanese dining but the food is very classy. Will be frequenting this place for a quick delicious meal.
Well I loved it. The Edamame could have done with a little more salt and spice, but the seared scallops with Japanese dressing were just amazing, as was the sashimi. Fabulous friendly smiling service. Price wise I would have sworn I was undercharged but every item was on my bill! The farewell from the staff including waving from the chefs was the highlight think I found my new local whenever I'm in Sydney.
My huhn katsu donburi (mealpal) was made on time and was a good part. only their average donburi with a miso suppe on the side (fast level, only liquid no toppings).
