First time visit for a girls' night out. We were a group of 7 and we got seated in a cosy little private room in the restaurant. Nice atmosphere, a mix of rustic, chic and casual all at once. Complimentary olives to start with. Shared 3 entrees between us which was plenty. Paella croquettes, polenta fingers and grilled calamari. All delicious. Calamari butter soft. Mains also good. Many chose the gnocchi which were f... View all feedback.
What Hilario Jacobs doesn't like about The Governor's Table:
I had a catastrophe from an experience here. for Saturday brunch to meet my speck and egg roll gift, as this was one of the few places open in the city. I entered the restaurant and was greeted by one of the female employees. She looked disappointed when I said I didn't want a coffee, but she said I was just going to have breakfast and sitting outside. I walk and sit at the very front side of the restaurant that look... Came here on a Friday night with no reservation and we were seated without any issues. Order: Roast nuts, garlic & wild Australian thyme - it was incredibly underwhelming. The nuts tasted like they came straight out of a Costco mixed nuts bulk-buy bag. There was none of the garlic or thyme flavour at all. Grilled calamari small plate - the calamari was beautiful and tender and all the flavours were great. Market fish, roast fennel, tomato, and seafood broth (perch) - I didn't eat this, but my dining partner wasn't happy. While the taste was great, the fish was riddled with bones and she couldn't bring herself to eat the second fillet. Fettuccine, pancetta, celeriac, cream, pangrattato, thyme - this tasted real good. Loved everything in there...except the peas. My dish was drowned in peas, and I personally hate peas ahaha, so I just put them all aside. Chocolate fondant, malt choc arancini, mascarpone, cherries - when they say cherries, they mean the artificially flavoured ones...but over all the dessert tasted pretty darn good. The server came and asked us how our dinner went toward the end of the mains, while I was away, and my dining partner showed her dismay for the fish and the amount of bones in her half eaten dish, and as a side note mentioned how many peas there were in the dish. They ended up taking the cost of the mains off our final bill, which was totally unnecessary for my fettuccine since I'm just a picky eater, but they insisted saying the chef went a little overboard with the peas, since it wasn't listed on the menu. The ambiance in the place is lovely and it's a nice quite dining experience overall. It's the second time I've been here (first for weekend brunch) and both times the food has been great. I can see myself coming back soon. rubyyee.com

She looked disappointed when I said I didn't want a coffee, but she said I was just going to have breakfast and sitting outside. I walk and sit at the very front side of the restaurant that looked out over Bridge Minuten Pass and she didn't show up. I go back to order and I'm hit by another male waiter with an arrogant swagger. I command a speck and eierroll and ask if it's okay to sit outside what he says is in order. the female waiter is there and hears this with a Jewish expression on her face.
They may go if they like the Australian vibe.Food interior with strong use of Australian flora and fauna. Eat is nice. the bathroom also. the gnocchi was in here.
We booked here for our wedding anniversary dinner, partly based on reviews and partly based on the fact that it was listed in the Entertainment Book (gotta
