The Carpenter - Sydney
The Carpenter
Description
Nestled in a backstreet of Leichhardt, 76 Flood Street is a hip café that makes a striking impression with its industrial chic décor and relaxed atmosphere. While the rustic ambiance and excellent coffee are frequent highlights, guests note that service can be slow and orders occasionally difficult to navigate due to the lack of a table numbering system. Menu items, including the Eggs Benedict and flat white, have drawn mixed reviews—some find them delightful, while others feel the portions are small for the price. Despite these quirks, eager patrons are drawn back to this charming eatery for more culinary explorations.

A nice little Cafe located in a converted warehouse and slightly away from the busy street. The food and coffee were great, and service was very friendly.
I highly recommend trying the bacon and egg roll on a milk bun at this restaurant. It was crispy and delicious. However, the pancakes were a bit dry and dense. Despite this, I would definitely come back as the restaurant was quiet and located in a perfect spot.
The space is hands down hipster chic in a very good way. I love the rustic and workshop look. The service was nice, but not super attentive (we did not get our own bottle of water and had to wait for our tiny glasses to be filled every time). The food and drinks were also nice, but for the price I felt the portions were inadequate everything felt miniature (coffee size, plates with small portions) but charged at usual prices (if not a touch more).
