Food is good. Cheap and good. Must go. But brace yourself for rude servers/staff from China. As well as tourists from China. Rude and noisy. As a Chinese myself, I'm utterly embarrassed to be of the same race as them. Good food! I DONT recommend Christie's seafood. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Sydney Fish Market:
We reached here around 12 noon for lunch, based on a friends recommendation. It's quite small. Very crowded. Maybe we were unlucky with a tour bus arriving just before us, I don't know. Yes there are fish and an awesome variety to see. But it was too crowded to see anything or get a place to eat. And so we headed to darling harbour for a meal. View all feedback.
Whenever you're in town, make sure to stop by the Sydney Fish Market. They have an outstanding variety of the freshest fish and shellfish that Australian waters have to offer. Many of the fishmongers also offer prepared sushi and sashimi for on-site dining. The seafood selection is top-notch and incredibly fresh. Parking is convenient, but it's advisable to arrive early. A new fish market is being constructed next door, so be sure to visit the current one before it relocates. I highly recommend a visit.
There is always ample parking available when we arrive at this restaurant. They also offer the option to pick fresh raw food off the shelf and have it cooked for you. The parking costs are reasonable and comparable to taking public transportation, so driving is preferred. It's advised not to feed the birds. Some popular menu items include fried battered soft shell crabs for $6 each and fried battered large prawns for $2 each. Ordering fresh food and having it cooked is the best way to experience what this place has to offer. The mini Tabasco bottles make for nice souvenirs. It's recommended to avoid food that has been sitting in the windows and to steer clear of the clearance food. Overall, I will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
Great fish market in Sydney! There are a lot of seafood to try from raw till cooked. Although there are not many stores but I tasted various food. Recommend to try the Aburi scallops!Overall, everything is quite pricey and food taste is just okay.
Quite a walk from the bus stop but is worth it!! Food is affordable and fresh. Ordered: From Peter’s Aburi Scallops (9/10) A lil pricey Aburi Lobster Roll (10/10) Sashimi platter (10/10) Sushi platter (8/10) From Oyster Bar Oysters (7/10) Not very sweet
If you don’t have a phobia of seagulls you’re in the clear! Sydney Fish Market is a large marketplace featuring shops for fresh seafood, deli items, wine, and baked goods restaurants. It’s always a very fun but crowded experience here so it is best to go early in the morning for the freshest cuts of seafood! The fish market by far has the best Lobster Roll I have ever tasted! It was super flavoursome and the Lobster was SO fresh! By far my one of my most favourite thing to eat at the Fish Market! Also absolutely loved how they torched the cheese as it complemented the lobster and bun so well.
