I came here early evening for a couple of beers and a feed. It was pretty quiet even though it was happy hour and the place had a relaxed feel. I grabbed the special meal which was a steak and a pint for $20. The...steak was pretty good. I would come back again. View all feedback.
What Emilie Botsford doesn't like about Scary Canary Backpacker Bar:
Disinterested staff and key menu items missing during normal trading hours. Hard to know how something so easy to get right is so hard for some establishments. Enter at your own peril. View all feedback.
I have so many positive things to say about this restaurant. The ambiance is pristine, the staff and bartenders were extremely friendly, and the music was fantastic. I have never had a dining experience quite like the one at Scary's, so I believe it is definitely worth your time, whether you visit as part of a restaurant hopping experience or for an entire evening. I would give it a perfect 10 out of 10 rating.
This restaurant offers excellent food and a relaxed pub atmosphere during the day. At night, it transforms into a lively dance floor with DJs and the best vibes in Sydney. The bar staff are always dancing and having fun, and the other patrons are usually trouble-free (which is unusual for a nightclub in Sydney). I highly recommend this place.
After we arrived in Sydney and visited our hotel, we were very hungry and then came across the Scary Canary - and we were very satisfied. The service was quick, the food was very good and tasty and the selection was also good. When we got in (late lunchtime) the shop wasn't overcrowded, so we had plenty of space, even right by the window.

Felt safe inside the bar. There were policemen roaming inside at one point, not sure if this is a regular thing in Sydney.
