Diners rave about signature dishes like the succulent Pork Bao, standout Salmon Sinigang, and flavorful Chicken Adobo, showcasing the kitchen's artistry. While some dishes might lean toward the oily side, the freshness and creativity shine through. The attentive, friendly staff enhance the dining experience, though the intimate space may feel cramped at times. With its unique ambiance and flavorful offerings, Rey's Place is a must-visit for those seeking a vibrant take on Filipino food.
The staff at this restaurant is incredibly friendly and professional, delivering fast service that will leave you thoroughly satisfied. I highly recommend visiting this establishment.
I've given Rey's a 4 but that's after I've realised I don't love pinoy food that much. Nothing bad, just not my preferred flavour profiles. The staff here were great and it's a cool little spot. I'd definitely suggest trying it as they do an excellent job and their food was tasty (hence the score).
5/5 Wov basic filo food with a twist of fine dining.<br/ <br/ Honestly saying was a bit concerned with this statement but no reason for that! Food was incredibly well made and tasty. Sometimes making basic food in fancy way creates small disasters, but not in here. Chef know what he is doing. Brilliant!<br/ <br/ Ambiance was what can (should) be expected from pinoy restaurant, but here we had once again that extra mile further. Even when cutlery was placed none matched and plates where from grand parents! Some might not find it nice, but I find it keeping this place real to it’s roots even being top class.<br/ <br/ Fantastic dinner. We will be back for sure.<br/ <br/ NOTE. In our reviews 5/5 is not expected to be place with ‘3 Michelin Stars’. It’s valuation of roots of cuisine, brilliant way of making it and ambiance with service. All matches with Rey’s Place.<br/ <br/
Rey’s Place combines all my favourite things about dining in Sydney: new and unusual flavours or dishes; food that comes from somewhere, authentically; and fine dining – I like a casual meal too, but I like to when I can see and taste the thought, care and quality that’s been put into a meal.
The rice bowls here are seriously delicious. I had only tried the pork belly one so far but im sure the other bowls are just as good. The only downside was that it was slightly oily. Had I not seen the oily matter left on the plate I would have felt better after having the dish. Empanadas could be heated more thoroughly as the middle was still quite cold. Nevertheless, I would come here again especially during the quiet lunch breaks. The ambience feels cozy and has natural light as well as some street views.
