So glad I used Trip Advisor and took the advice of the reviews. Incredibly good value, richly flavoured Japanese food. This is a humble restaurant, a little quirky yet dishing up well flavoured great-value food. Worth re-visiting. Another new favourite easy-dinner place in the city. View all feedback.
What Jacqueline Bergeron doesn't like about Oiden Bowl Restaurant:
Oiden offers a selection of rice bowls through a canteen-style service. I tried the Ontama BBQ Wagyu Beef bowl and Chicken Karaage yesterday and found that the beef was simply overcooked and extremely tough. There was no way which I could chew the meat and I gave up after a few bites. It is an affordable option in the CBD but I will recommend others to go there only if you have teeth made of diamonds View all feedback.

The service was really quick and nice. Three small dishes for 9.9 is really good for first timer to find out what you like. Half boiled egg was softer than I thought, but the egg yolk was perfect. Rice was good quality.
So i ate like 3 servings of ice cream before this bowl of katsu udon and it literally brought me back to life. i needed more soup tbh... i had more than half the noodles leftover, the side of kimchi ws :-/ and the katsu obv got soggy bt whatever, it ws still good.
This place has quick service and a decent variety of rice dishes and side dishes. Their menu is cheap and super affordable for a restaurant in the city, making it a great place to eat at any time during the day or night. Out of all the times my group and I visited, the venue was busy and full but waiting time in line and waiting for a table to clear up worked out well so we always had a spot to eat at inside. I enjoy testing out each menu item and I mainly get either the beef or chicken rice dishes since the quality of some of the other dishes (like the sashimi one) aren't as good. Overall, this Japanese restaurant is definitely fitting for small groups of people or individuals, but may be tough to find seats for large groups who want to sit together. (*^▽^*)
