Affordable, tasty local Malaysian food in the heart of Sydney CBD. Purchase from open counter; free seating for about 30 pax. Crowded during lunch; lull in the late afternoon. However definitely more expensive than those in Penang or Ipoh. Give it a try. View all feedback.
Quick service and generous portions and great Laksa! There's quite a few places in the city where you can get a good LaksaThis place is one of them.
I visited this place about 4 times, since I only work across the road, they present a different option to Menya Ramen and I could duck down, grab a quick
What I love about this place is reminds you of "grandma type home cook" It just bring the memories back to your childhood, and those a good sign of good
Larger hole in the wall in Kent street near Town Hall back steps. Family run business - the lady whose picture is on the sign works behind the counter. Order and pay at the counter. Laksa - "How you like?". "Rich Malaysian style, medium spice" "Ok, ok". You have a choice of what meat or tofu to add. Price range $11-15, add a Coke / zero. They also make fresh Roti bread - fresh enough to get you salivating as you wait to order. Nash Goreng and Mee Goreng ... the Malaysian breakfasts of champions. The panoply of Malay/ Bahasian street food. Sit at tables, merging to communal at busy lunchtimes. How was the Laksa? Due to lack of practice I got it all over me but it was great. Not exactly fine dining but a satisfying journey that immersed me in the bowl and the brother. I will break my fast to try again.
I love a good laksa but here I always go for the curries and the fresh roti (often have to wait for the latest batch). Sensational.
