Mr Bao is a quick spot for grabbing a nice lunch which specialised in "Gua Bao"-steamed soft bun filled with different things such as crackling pork, tempura prawn, chicken karaage and braised pork, crispy tofu. The coconut, lychee and mint slushie was pretty nice with beautiful combination of lychee and coconut flavours. The buns were soft and absorbed the nice juicy and essence from the filling. Pickles, herbs, peanuts, pork skin and yummy creamy sauces added different textures and flavours into the Gua Bao. My favourite would be the prawn, but the others were nice too! If you feel heavy after eating the baos, then you might want to grab the salad. It tasted as good as the bun, sweet, tangy, crunchy, I loved it. Some nights( from Thursday -Saturday )Mr. Bao also offer special dishes, such as the chicken wings and soft shell crabs.
Love the bao here, can't fault it????. Personal faves are the chicken karage and the pork bao. The service is fast staff are efficient and the servings are generous. I definitely rate this one highly.????????????
The food at this unique shop is delicious. It's perfect for a light meal or snack. The food was fresh and served to us promptly, much to our delight. The prices are fairly reasonable for what you get.
Great value for money! The bao buns are soft and fluffy, and the service is quick, especially during lunch breaks. I will definitely return to this place if I enjoy Chinese buns. They offer a variety of fillings including roasted pork, braised pork, and chicken with beans.
I had an incredible dining experience at this cozy little restaurant. Despite its small size and popularity, the food was incredibly fresh and delicious. I opted for the lunch special which included two bao, karaage chicken, pork belly, and sweet potato fries. I also tried the slushie of the day, which was watermelon with Yuzu. While I wasn't a huge fan of the Yuzu flavor, it was a unique experience that I'm glad I tried. Some reviews mentioned that the prices were high, but I believe that the quality, freshness, and speed of service make it worth the cost. I have had bao at cheaper places before, but the quality and portion sizes here were far superior and left me feeling very satisfied.
