I had not heard of this place and entered by chance after seeing a venue with a number of food outlets further up George Street.Fancy a noodle place NOT serving ramen but udon or soba noodles. I couldn't pass up noodles with eel, so orderd the Unagi KORO with kake soup, grilled terriyaki eel, boiled egg (half), crab stick, tempura flakes, chopped shallot, sesame seed and red chilli. The ramen taste like sodium bicarbonate and the soup has hardly any flavor $15 for a bowl of terrible noodles with just 1 small piece of pork. Don't waste your money there. View all feedback.
Really in the mood for some noddles. Decided to try for the first time Mappen. The udon was cool and the taste underwhelming. Will be the last time visiting.

Staff were pleasant and the prices very reasonable .The Ramen was ok. Definitely not authentic Tokyo style Ramen but western version. The Tempura and takoyaki was cold.
I have been in here since it is open. I always have a good reason to come back. Staffs could change over the year but food pretty consistent. service can be a bit annoying when new staff with very little ability of English understanding. but for the price wise this place is a good place to sit and enjoy your Udon in the city.
My cousin and I had dinner here recently. You get in line, order at the counter, then pick up your food and pay for it further down the line. You then go find a seat, enjoy your noodles, then drop off your tray at the counter. You choose what kind of noodles you want (soba or udon), then the soup and toppings. The portion was abit on the small side, but overall,it was a pretty yummy cheap and quick meal.
