A cafe at the main intersection of Paddington and Moore park. There’s a takeaway shed at the front for coffees and cakes etc or you can dine in. The setting is nice outside and we sat in the sunshine at a booth. The menu is a bit of a mix between Japanese and Scandinavian and certainly the menu looked Super interesting. We tried two breakfast dishes the miso salmon with salad and also the soba salad. Both were super... View all feedback.
Jozo is a hidden cafe in Paddington that has both a great outside and inside area for dining as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. We came here for brunch one day, keen to try it out. We ordered a range of drinks as well as pastries and sides. The first dish was the Acai bircher bowl with seasonal fruits, toasted coconut, almond flake and chia seeds. This was such a bright and fresh dish, the fruits and acai went really well with the crunchy nuts and seeds on top.
You might have noticed a new restaurant cafe pop up on the corner of Oxford Street in Paddington. It’s right near Centennial Park! The house its in has gone through many different iterations, but it looks like SVEN-SAN is here to stay. We went to JOZO BY SVEN-SAN before the restaurant proper had opened. They serve a selection of Japanese and Scandinavian light meals and things to share. I’ve got to say though, it’s definitely not as fusion as EDITION COFFEE ROASTERS where every dish has elements of both culinary cultures. JOZO is more like, there’s a Japanese dish but also a Swedish dish! You’ll see what I mean in the dishes below…
This week we went to quite a unique restaurant. Sven-san is a marriage between Swedish and Japanese cuisines. You can look at it again, it would still say Swedish and Japanese. If you are planning to visit, it’s probably better to go there by bus, because the location is right at the end of Paddington and just before the centennial park. On this occasion, we selected the Chef Selection Banquet for $55. They also have the $70 version of the banquet.
Atmosphere coffee and food delicious! Dog friendly. Definitely be returning.
Ordered the jozo dojo and was really happy with the taste, aesthetics and ingredients. However I thought the portion was kind of small for the amount I paid. My friends thought the same too. But the ambience and outside seating area was perfect! Enjoyed the vibe.
