Loved the Hainan chicken rice served was decent, as it came with soup and the delicious sambal sauce. Would like to come back and try it, your Char Kuay ENOW next time! Too bad that you are not open for dinner. View all feedback.
What Deon Goldner doesn't like about Ipoh on York:
Average.I ordered curry chicken but chicken tasted like inelastic as well as Laska soup with chicken option. But all students holding a student ID could enjoy off during off-peak,should be pm excluded. View all feedback.
Favourite laksa ever! Not too spicy (mild-medium) and the broth is so smooth and tasty. I usually get the wontons which are quite big and it comes with the usual tofu and a bit of bean sprouts. I've been told the beef laksa is tender and plentiful as well ^_^ Also tried their curry chicken which was decent, the chicken is soft and the sauce is flavoursome. The only thing was the potatoes were a bit undercooked. Oh, and their milk tea is $3 and tastes awesome! This place is always packed during lunch hour but the line moves very quickly and there is actually plenty of seating further inside - looks can be so deceiving! They also accept eftpos - added bonus! Perfect place for a bite to eat during my break on a cold Winter's day, I always leave full to the brim :)
My Laksa quest took me here and I ordered the one thing they are so famous for - Laksa!! To be honest, I didn't find it mind blowing. I don't know if it was my cold or my obsession with Laksa that I had unrealistic expectations ????
Loved the hainanese chicken rice, serving was decent as it came with soup and the delicious sambal sauce. Would love to come back and try their char kuay teow next time! Shame they don't open for dinner.
Had lunch here today and I gotta say I was impressed. Had the Nasi lemak and my wife had the Laksa. Both meals were made quickly and were very tasty with adequate portion sizes. I will be back.
This is my go to laksa place. I've tried every place in the city, from papparich to lee's Malaysian to Malay-Chinese and all sorts of takeaway places but this is the best laksa in town. It's not overly rich or creamy, just perfectly balanced and perfect for a cold winter day. The other items on the menu are not as special but still very authentic.
