Was in Sydney for Court work in Feb 2015 and arranged to have lunch with my mentee at the Law Society Dining Room. It was a great venue to catch up with my mentee; thoroughly enjoyed it and so did my mentee. Service great, food great and the ambiance was professional but relaxed and a great atmosphere for my men tee and I to talk about all things 'law'. Will not hesitate to use this facility again. William, from Melbourne.
Yesterday was my 2nd visit to the Law Society Dining Room and I'm wondering why I left it so long between visits. The staff are courteous, friendly and efficient. The food is very good. Besides a la carte, there is also a lunchtime special menu - $40 for 2 courses and a glass of wine; we opted for the entree/mains from the menu deal. There was only one choice for entree - steamed prawn dumplings in a coriander, soy and citrus sauce - so tasty. I had the pasta with mushroom ragout for main and it was delicious. The other choice for main was a chicken and leek pie (I think), which my friends had and they loved it. I didn't even notice the dessert choice(s), too full from the generous sized entree and main meal. We received beautiful chocolate truffles and biscotti with our coffee, such a nice touch which you don't see very often anymore. It's my birthday next week - I think I'll go again. :-)
The quality of food and service is why the Dining Room has increasingly become my restaurant of choice for business related meals. It is not too big, the service and staff are friendly and helpful. The menus is always interesting. My guest this week there was most impressed and called again next day to say so again.
While on a trip to Sydney CBD I took two of my friends along to this immaculate dining room not quite knowing what to expect. It is located on the 2nd floor of the NSW Law Society's premises in Philip Street in the heart of the legal fraternity's bar chambers, book shops, library etc. The dining room is intimate, modern and immaculate with crisp white table cloths. The service was first class as was the food. The barramundi was succulent as was my friend's prawn and pasta dish - they were also very generous. An abundant and fresh cheese plate was chosen by one of my friend's for desert while I chose a lovely pear and panna cotta desert. The wine list was great and my sauvignon blanc lovingly chilled! Of all the restaurants we have gone to this was our favourite for service, ambience and deliciously stunning meals.
