To be honest I was not expecting much at all from the room service but I was so unwell with a head cold I felt I had no other choice. Well, did I get a pleasant surprise!!! Delicious salmon, piles of fresh creamy mash, lovely little salad and a white wine sauce to die for! They lost some points for giving me 2 x salt shakers and no pepper lol!I am usually very skeptical of both budget room service and salmon room ser... View all feedback.
What Džonijs Elksne doesn't like about Citrus Grove:
The meal we had was enjoyable. My wife and I shared a margarita pizza and a salad. They were plain but good food. Our friends had fish and chips, a huge portion, and grilled chicken. They enjoyed their meals as well. Unfortunately, the service was...slow and very casual. I think the servers were nearing the end of a shift and looking forward to going home. The restaurant has little atmosphere. It reminded me of a sch... View all feedback.

Would recommend any tired and weary traveller looking for a nourishing, filling and good tasting meal to give it a go!
The ambience here was decent considering it’s in the front of a hotel, however I was there at 8.30 on a Sunday eve so it was fairly quiet and enjoyable.<br/ <br/ The waitress was absolutely lovely. Probably one of the nicest wait staff I’ve encountered in a long time : <br/ <br/ I ordered the calamari, salad and aioli and it was tasty. Not rubbery. Hit the spot for a late night meal. <br/
I often try hard not to eat in the hotel when travelling, surely there are so many 'better choices ' one can make. Sadly on occasion it 's just convenient... That said on the occasions I 've eaten here the foods been pretty good. Maybe not the best value around town for experience, ambiance but convenience comes at a price (and dreadful music). There is however a good selection reasonably priced and it 's tasty. On the downside sometimes the staff can tend to forget you, but perhaps you may like that.
We were staying in the hotel last night and decided to get dinner here. I wasn't really expecting much, but it was actually a fantastic dinner! Ordered the steak. Done perfectly. The chocolate fondant was one of the best I have had. Presentation was also great. The best part? Even though the staff were down a few team members (only two wait staff on they were both attentive and great waiters. I didn't catch the name of the other staff member, but Marley was our main waiter and boy are they good! Thanks so much for a great meal. :
Delicious food attractively presented at reasonable prices. This restaurant is inside the Travelodge across from Wynyard. It is a short distance away from the main tourist areas which means it is a surprisingly quiet spot. We enjoyed it so much, we will return in the near future.
