I have lunched here twice now and Spanish food is not really my thing but the service here is great and the cuisine so interesting. Everything is high quality and well presented. I will be back. View all feedback.
What Agustin Yundt doesn't like about Balcon by Tapavino:
Bullet points Speed of service Taste of food Food portions were small where we were told they were big enough for 2 and each of us smashed down the portions on our own- very disappointed especially at $49 per piece of meat and a plate...of cabbage for $19 The cracker was when we were hit with a $20 “public holiday surcharge” on Easter sat night. Come on. It wasn’t Good Friday or Easter Monday it was just a Sat night.... View all feedback.
Having just walked the camino and then eaten away 4 more weeks in Spain it was a delight to eat and drink at balcon by tapavino. Fabulous wine selection and interesting menu to please everyone.
Balcon by Tapavino is easy to miss from the outside - but make an effort to seek it out and you will be amply rewarded! All warm wood tones, with splashes of the Spanish colours of red and yellow, and hundreds of bottles of wine lining the walls; this restaurant has a very welcoming vibe on a chilly night. Staff are very friendly and are full of spot-on food and wine recommendations. In terms of food this place is made for group dinners and sharing! The cuisine is Spanish but the menu is more adventurous than your standard tapas regulars like patatas bravas and garlic prawns. Must orders include the chicken liver pate, the poached Galician style octopus and the leek with soft boiled egg. The silky lavender parfait is a transformative experience! And the pricing is very reasonable - always a good thing in the expensive Sydney CBD.
What a gem of a place this is in Bligh Street, behind the Wentworth and near the entry of Hubert.Beautiful looking fit out. Went for a very late lunch meeting, 4 business colleagues, one from interstate.Shared a couple of plates of this amazing Morten Bay Bug and Olorosa custard dish. And a couple of bottles of a light Spanish red, I don't know which one as I didn't pick it but it was very good. Service was impeccably professional.

This is a a great place to go for some very good spanish food and wine (although it is not cheap). We shared various plates including the excellent hamon iberico - highly recommend if you want to splash out. The salted cod was also very good and was somewhat differently done as a sort of spring roll. The staff were friendly and attentive, checking with us to see how quickly we wanted our next course.I am looking forward to going back
