After arriving in Sydney early, we had an early meal. Chicken and prawn noodle soup and Malaysian noodles with chicken were delicious. Try it but you need to know that if closes early afternoon but well worth an early lunch View all feedback.
What Braden Wuckert doesn't like about BaBa Laksa House:
This is my first time to buy the lunch here.I waited much longer than other people having there. They explained due to fried chicken taking more time to prepare. The other Malaysian restaurants in the city are better.
Interesting Malaysian restaurant. Laksa is pretty average, the soup base is a little bit thin/watery with less flavour than I would expect (but not too bad). The chicken they use is breast unfortunately so it is not as tender as it could be. The prawns are cooked separately and added in to the soup, however this means the laksa is made and brought out super fast. Soup base is quite nice, with a hint more sweetness (pineapple than I am used to. The addition of capsicum and cucmber is a bit strange, and I feel detracts a bit from the dish.Seating area is a little cramped Also tried the Hainan chicken rice which was quite nice. From baba Malay for father) house to mama mother house The change the name and yet still same staffs working. I don't know why the reason for he change this business name, but anyway they still serve good food Sate Ayam chicken skewers) is my favorite dish. Nasi lemak fragrant coconut rice also is one of my favorite here. It comes with side dishes, such as curry chicken or beef sambel egg and fried anchovies. Taste reminds me having this dish back in Malaysia. The new version of nasi lemak, they also put pineapple in acar pickle condiment.
I love that this little place, in the style of a Hawker stall, is located inside the Grace Hotel, serving up delicious Malaysian food. A colleague, who was born in Indonesia and lived many years in Singapore (thus establishing his Southeast Asian credentials) recommended this place, though he lamented it’s only open for lunch on weekdays.
We came here for a quick lunch and it certainly was! Located in the Grace Hotel. It is now known as Mama Laksa House. Order and make payment at the counter, you're handed a number and go select a free table. The man serving at the counter was friendly. They accept payment by credit card too which is a bonus. Unfortunately it was quite busy and it took a bit but eventually got a table and the staff were quick to clear the table. They serve a variety of Malaysian cuisine We had the Rendang Lean Beef Curry Rice and Mee Siam Goreng. Both dishes had a slight spicy kick to them but not overly so. The beef was melt in the mouth and better than other rendangs I have had where the beef had been...read more
