I enjoyed a delicious Chill Eggs and double espresso to start my day at the Avenue on Chifley. I got to enjoy it before the morning rush started. Excellent range of dishes on the menu at reasonable prices. Good sized serve too. The waiters were friendly and fast. View all feedback.
What מימי מייזליש doesn't like about Avenue on Chifley:
Nestled outside one of Sydney's most famous buildings doesn't automatically mean you're going to be a hit.
Service was slow and disappointing, not that it was the staffs fault, I just felt they were understaffed.
The food was ok and nothing amazing, but I guess that sums up the place in total View all feedback.
Poor service and not impressive at all. Food is quite average- pastries and cakes are pre packaged and dull. Only does a trade because it's in a good location.
Good food but staff are treated like absolute rubbish and underpaid. Never seen backpackers treated so poorly!! The friday nights seem like good fun but have seen the same staff work from 6am-11pm with a 30 minute break and paid below the minimum wage. I hope management are aware this is illegal.
Ordered an iced coffee and a chocolate croissant. Ate outside with some friends. It's a nice outdoor area to hang & eat for a bit. Insta: @voraciousventures

I headed to The Avenue on Chifley this morning having not been there for a while. I like their coffee and the food is decent. My friend had avo and poached eggs on toast with fetta ($16.50) that looked good – the eggs were well-poached and there was a nice balsamic dressing drizzled on the plate. I had the chilli scrambled eggs with kale, mushrooms and fetta ($15.50). It was nice. The eggs were buttery but would have like more chilli. It came with a piece of ‘sourdough’ which was not sourdough at all, just white toast – this is one of my pet peeves! If you say sourdough, make sure it is good, proper sourdough otherwise I will opt for a wholemeal or rye bread – or none at all! This place is popular with the city crowd, their coffee machine does not stop running all day and they do a great happy hour and jazz on a Friday.
