77 Dumpling King - Sydney
77 Dumpling King
Description
The restaurant received mixed reviews, with some customers unsatisfied with the food quality and delivery service. Customers complained about fatty and tough dumplings, as well as expensive and subpar dishes like salt and pepper squid. However, there were also positive reviews praising the excellent service, welcoming owner/manager, and delicious dishes such as salt and pepper squid, duck rolls, fried rice, and sweet and sour pork. Some customers highly recommended the BBQ eggplant and praised the dumplings as reminiscent of authentic Chinese street food. Overall, the restaurant seems to have a mixed reputation, with some customers loving the food and service while others were left disappointed.

This restaurant in Sydney city serves some of the best dumplings around. My favorite items are the pan-fried Cabbage dumplings and the salt and pepper tofu. The portions are generous considering the price.
Stopped in for some lunch time dumplings and they were awesome! A few different beef combinations which were really nice. The staff were super friendly and made for super enjoyable lunch. Highly recommend the pork and chive pan fried and the beef and carrot pan fried. Thanks guys I will be back.
Tried here for the first time and it was absolutely delicious! I didn’t eat the dumplings but my sister said they were delicious (she had the eggplant pan-fried). Said they were the best she’s ever had! The tomato egg soup was very tasty also! Tasted very authentic like many of the ones I tried whilst in China. For mains the stir-fried eggplant with minced pork was absolutely delicious! Beautifully cooked nicely caramelised eggplant. The vegetable fried rice (my sister’s main) was also extremely tasty!!! The portions were huge and great value in terms of price, we got take out containers so we could enjoy the food for the next day. Extremely good service and the food came out so quickly. 100% recommend. Will definitely be going back to this place.
Man, this week has been greasy Chinese food week! After getting a taste of greasy food earlier this week it has ignited my Chinese food cravings leading to a vicious cycle of repetitively eating it at different restaurants. I was craving some eggplant again after having such a yummy meal at the other place that I came across 77 Dumpling King on Ubereats. Yum! It was just what I was after. Great flavor and just what I wanted to satisfy my cravings. <br/ <br/ I ordered 2 versions of the stir fried eggplant dish. One with capsicum and potato in a soy sauce base and the other in a sweet and sour base. Both had great flavour it was a shame I takeawayed these as I am sure they would’ve tasted crispy. Their salt and pepper calamari was also pretty yummy. It was on the salty side but had good flavour. Typical Chinese quality seafood (frozen calamari) but I really didn’t mind. This one would have also tasted better in person as it would still be crispy. The fish in chilli oil was also great. Had strong aromatic flavours in the broth and a good serving of garlic in the dish to elevate the dish. <br/ <br/ Overall, cost of the food also was decently valued (everything under $17 each). This is a good place to go for authentic hole in the wall Chinese food. I will have to try this place again in person!
Used Uber Eats to get this delivered to work. It worked efficiently enough as the deliverer arrived early!<br/ <br/ We got a selection of dishes to share including Pork And Cabbage Dumplings, Chicken And Onion Dumplings, Peking Duck Roll Fried Noodles With Chicken. The dumplings were handmade and steamed. We preferred the chicken ones more but both were tasty. The duck roll was also yummy however probably better when eaten straight away as the heat managed to steam it a bit and pastry wasn’t as crisp. The noodles were of a generous portion and nice.
