Excellent pub! beautiful old world interieur, very pleasant service, and good food and beer to cheap trips. we came on a Sunday afternoon and had that.
This pub was reopened only a week ago with new ones and employees, and tonight our first visit was there for three years or more. my wife and I had drinks and a meal and I am so glad to report that the place back to his old is even years ago: nice service, nice eating, beautiful atmosphere and cheap in a charming country pub. the new people get the dinge right; so much better than in recent years. we will definitely come back.
Beautiful to see the belper arms is now back open after it has been closed for so long. we went out last night with our puppies for a beautiful impromptu meal and can honestly say that we have never felt so welcome in any pub or restaurant anywhere! we have concluded with the spoiled, native and visitors, as if we had met them for years, but could also have a nice meal in our own room. the new renters have managed to create a very warm, nurturing atmosphere. if they weren't since the reopening, pop in them will not be disappointed!
They edit this review that was made 5 months ago when it was terrible. but visited last night and the new owners I like to say turned it around. the service was absolutely spot on, eating was good value and tasty pub duve. Nice to say they have swallowed the entrance up and it is back to being a good local small pub that does decent eating and drinking. we make young.
New owners very friendly and hospitable. as the oldest pub in leicester it is a traditional village pub with original beams etc. so obviously is a little darker than bright new pubs. we did not find any problems with the ice, had great service at the bar and look forward to trying the menu next week. I want david andy, the best.
