A unique fish-themed evening We came here on a Thursday evening in August after some deliberation, reading between the lines of the TripAdvisor reviews. After a couple of phone calls explaining their ‘unique’ menu choices we booked a table. Upon arriving we ordered a pleasant voignier from local winery, Bauci, for €24 enoteca price €12.50). Our daughter had the homemade pasta with tomato sauce, a good provision on their part as she wasn’t obliged to have the set menu. As their website says, you are obliged to have all three starters €30 for the three) which change every day, depending on the fish caught and the imagination of the chef. A bit of a strange idea, but if you’re ok about being told what to eat, ok about spending €30 on antipasti and like us you’re not fussy about what you’re eating and willing to experiment, then all is good. In fact all three antipasti were very tasty. The orata cooked with potatoes and lemon in a plastic bag was a nice start. The squid and courgette soup was surprisingly good and the third, a courgette flower stuffed with monk fish the best dish of the evening. At this point you can then decide what to have next. 1 or 2 starters, €10 for 1 or €15 for 2) with or without a main course €15). We went for one starter each and one main course as there was only 1 choice of main course). The 2 pasta dishes, one with clams and mussels and the other with tuna were above average. The one main course was sea bass with aubergines. The sea bass unfortunately was still raw inside. The bill came to €132, which for 2 people and 1 child having a plate of pasta with tomatoes) was rather expensive as we knew it would be). Overall though we had a pleasant evening. The dishes were mostly good and although the price was fairly high, we felt it was worth it as a treat. Dal Cacini have created a unique experience and if you just go with it you are in for an evening that is definitely not dull!

We have been here for a romantic dinner of fish. I would say the service very good, the location excellent, but I have strong doubts on the cook and the prices are too high. We got 3 starters, one fish soup and the dessert for 50 euros/each plus other 20 euros for 2 glasses of wine and service 120 euros/2 persons. The starters were of a reasonable level (2 over 3) but the third was filled with mayonnaise killing the taste of the fish. The fish soup was essentially a french soup once more with mayonnaise, it was really difficult to digest during the night. The dessert were standard. Maybe we were not lucky, but the dinner was not at high level in our opinion and in Tuscany one would expect a larger use of oil and not of mayonnaise.

I would have never expected such an excellent fish restaurant on the hills, a bit far away from the see, but it is absolutely recommendable if you are in Suvereto or in the surroundings. A nice couple of owners will serve you a fix fish menu on surprise. All fresh and delivered from the market in the morning. A beautiful garden outside, good wine... What else, just enjoy and relax. This is what I had at least :

A hidden garden nestled in the historic center of Suvereto, where you'll be welcomed by a beautiful couple: he takes care of the kitchen, she takes care of the dining room. A winning combination! Kind and passionate, they cook what the sea provides, so there's no set menu; you dine based on the catch of the day! You start with appetizers—I recommend the three-course menu—and then continue with first courses, second courses, and side dishes until you're hungry, or until you're ready to explore the chef's recipes. The fish is, of course, incredibly fresh, and the pairings are interesting and balanced. All accompanied by carefully presented and recommended local wines. Another excellent touch? The dessert! In short, it was a truly perfect lunch!
