You'd never know this cafe existed if it wasn't for the menu laden A Frame sign out the front. It certainly has potential with a large hidden courtyard that could be turned into a lovely tranquil escape from the busy Surry Hills outside. Although they might have to replace the mini Christmas tree table top decorations which I'm suspecting are left all year round and swap them for perhaps some potted herbs or succulents. Service wasn't particularly welcoming but I'll put that down to the barista being distracted with cleaning his coffee machine steam wand at the time. Latte was enjoyed by the Mrs. I was after the Breakfast Special of the Bacon Egg Roll but they had run out of rolls before morning tea time so the Ham and Cheese Croissant with coffee extra) ended up being my Plan B. Croissant took a while but found out they'd burnt the first attempt so had to make a new one. Was pretty large in size and fairly decent. Cappuccino had a strong flavour to start with a slightly rough bitter flavour finish. I may still return to try the bacon and egg roll and might give the coffee a second chance for the extra
We tried the margarita pizza and the smoked salmon pizza. The service was very prompt and the food was delicious.
If you like meat or pizza, then you will like this placePlenty of choice on the menu, nice relaxing place to have lunch/dinner.
Pizza was more like roti bread than pizza, left me disappointed and my wife in a mood. If you like a supper thin soft crust pizza then this is your place.
