Legacies - Sumter
Legacies
Description
Legacies, a popular bar in Sumter, presents a mixed bag of experiences for its patrons. While the atmosphere is inviting for sports fans and live music enthusiasts, the service often falls short of expectations, particularly during busy nights. Food quality can be inconsistent; many rave about the burgers, but others lament over undercooked or flavorless dishes. Customer service issues also arise, notably with bartenders and order accuracy. Despite these shortcomings, the drink specials and lively environment entice many. However, a growing number of customers are choosing to explore nearby establishments, seeking a more reliable dining experience and better service.

The quality of the food is pretty awesome. Well... I've only ever had the burgers because they are too damn good to try anything else. In regards to the review about memberships that's law, dear. It has to do with the smoking bans. As for the bar/nightlife I like it over all. It's weird the mixed aged groups that go to Legacies. One night I'll go and the place will be full of mid to late twenties, early thirties. The next night I go, the age range is 50 60 only.
This is the only public bar in the city, and I had a disappointing experience. The bartender was more focused on playing games and smoking than attending to the four customers in the bar. It felt like they were missing out on sales by not paying attention. I really hope this isn’t the standard level of service. I’d rather find another bar or figure out how to get a membership elsewhere. Also, I was charged extra for ordering a well drink neat, which seems ridiculous to me.
Additionally, this same owner made unwanted advances toward me on multiple occasions after he had been drinking heavily, seeming to forget that he had already hit on me the previous week. Other friends, including female staff members, also experienced similar issues, which felt like borderline sexual harassment. I once called in an order well before the kitchen closed, but when I arrived to pick it up, I waited 30 minutes only to be told that we had called too late. After the bartender argued with the same owner and showed both the time stamp on our call and the receipt, our food was finally prepared—but it took an hour to receive it. The food quality can be inconsistent; it’s either really good or dry. The prices are fair for what you get, but the service varies greatly depending on who is working. There seems to be a lot of turnover among staff, except for a couple of regular bartenders who usually provide great service. Overall, if you’re there to drink heavily, the bartenders tend to be quick and attentive. However, if you’re just there for a soda and not spending much on alcohol, expect to receive poor service. I’ve stood at the bar for 20-30 minutes waiting for a soda refill, even after tipping well despite not drinking much. I understand that alcohol sales are a significant part of the business, but as a paying customer, I expect fair treatment. I have decided not to visit Legacies anymore unless a friend is performing. I find much better service and integrity at similar establishments in Sumter. I also want to make it clear that if I face any backlash for my honest review, my lawyer is on speed dial. It’s time for Legacies to start treating customers better; many of my friends have already decided to stop going due to poor treatment, and it’s just not worth it anymore.
One of the most popular ADULT bars in Sumter. Located across the street from walmart in the shopping plaza next to TJ. MAX. THe food IMO is pretty darn good, considering its a bar. They have fairly decent steak and potato. Along with a surprising variety of seafood such as scallops and shrimp, not what you would expect to see in a bar!. Included are also bar favorites like hamburgers, sandwiches and a great buffalo wings deal. The decour and feel of the pub is nice, Plenty of TV 's which broadcast all sorts of sports, someimes offer live music, and drink specials aren 't bad. Service indeed is slower than usual, especially during busy nights. But it just varies by experience. A good place to go for dinner in the afternoon or watch the game with friends while having a few drinks. 2-3 Pool tables available. Closes early at 2am, 1am on sat 's. Big spacious well lit parking lot, near other several bars. Your typical preppyish whiteboy bar. Not Booty Poppin action here. Though decent amount of women groups attend.
The service was average, but the food and drinks left much to be desired. The wings I ordered were inedible! They lacked flavor, and they were undercooked. After one bite, I couldn't bring myself to eat any more. Our waitress chatted excessively and ended up mixing up our orders without taking responsibility for her mistakes. The wine tasted cheap and seemed like it was past its prime. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I won't be returning.
