Great food, friendly service and a decent gluten-free selection that includes sandwiches and pizza. Fresh ingredients, reasonable prices and endless din-in soft drinks. Great food, friendly service and a decent gluten-free selection that includes sandwiches and pizza. Fresh ingredients, reasonable prices and endless din-in soft drinks. We have regularly become Schlotzsky for the great food and service. If it's time for a short piece and we run the list of places they always top the list. They also offer a takeaway service that is ideal for working meals and more. Large parking spaces, accessible to disabled people, table and seating. And as mentioned, a good selection of gluten-free options.
While I usually found the site at the University of Blvd., I recently fell in, and it seemed that the site had lost power and was not open. I quickly opened my Google Maps to find a closer store and discovered the store in the First Colony Commons. And I have to say I'm glad I did. I have visited the University of Blvd. for a while, but honestly, I have to say that the quality of food has gone down steadily in recent months. At first, in the 70s, I was brought back to the Austin/San Marcos area when I was quite young. I think you could say I was dressed from a very young age. I even visited the NYC chain location on the 6th. Ave/Ave. of The Americas when they tried to break into the very hard NYC sandwich market. (So much I love Schlotzsky, it's kind of hard to beat a real pastrami on rye from Katz or Carnegie Deli. Anyway, I'm degressing. To come to my point while I am at the University of Blvd. Place, I am glad that fate intervened this day and brought me to the First Commons site. While it might be what I would consider “NY table seats” (a little cramped for my comfort, it is all in the much fresh food, impeccable cleanliness, friendliness of the staff and the rapid extension of the food. All in all, kudos to ALL management, of which each shift leads to GM and DM. You still have a customer for life. (Well, if you could just break back to the NYC market!
Employees was nice and professional. The place was clean. The food was delicious.
I visited this restaurant for the first time and the food is fantastic. However, the menu could use some improvement. It lacks descriptions of the ingredients in each sandwich, so you'll need to ask the cashier about what each sandwich contains.
The restaurant tends to get quite busy on weekends, but I love the wonderful aroma of freshly baked goods. The staff does an excellent job of keeping the place clean and well-maintained!
