Have to say that we were attracted by the current 50% off ‘mains’. That meant we turned a 2 course meal in to a 3 course – at least for me. It was all good – service – just right with a personal touch; food – lovely being wholesome, tasty and nutritious; general ‘feeling’ – comfortable. I loved the peach crumble with plenty of custard – massive! Looking forward to a repeat. View all feedback.
What LichfieldBoy doesn't like about The White Horse:
We started with a generous portion of fat whitebait as a shared starter, followed by main courses of lambs liver and chicken supreme, both of which were delicious. Friendly and good food with the added bonus that it's dog friendly in the bar.
Sunday 18th Nov Good food and excellent service from the friendly quietly efficient staff, all for a reasonable price of £63.00 for a 3 course Sunday meal for two including a drink each. Let down slightly by the very small (large egg cup) portion of custard with the crumble. And, charged £8.00 for the Prawn Cocktail starter, even though it was priced at £7.00 on the Specials board!?!? Hence knocked five stars back to four.
We decided to visit last minute but we were made to feel very welcome. There were 4 adults and 2 babies in the group. The service from start to end was excellent. Wendy, in particular, was extremely helpful, friendly and personable. The food was excellent....
A lovely place for a tasty meal at a good price. Excellent staff.
Gorgeous pub with cosy bar and massive beer garden. Just popped by for a mulled wine on Christmas Eve. Friendly staff and dog friendly.
