Despite the reviews my husband and myself decided to order a takeaway. We were pleasantly surprised. To me this seems like an authentic Indian Restaurant. The meat was of a good quality and quantity. The service was pleasant on the telephone and when collected. If you want a delicious takeaway I'd recommend. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Sea Spice:
This was my second visit to this restaurant and unfortunately, I may not be returning. The food was decent, but the service was lacking. Firstly, they couldn't find our reservation and had it listed for 15 minutes later than we had booked online. We were seated at the bar and once we finally got a drink, we were ignored again. The service was slow, it was hard to get the attention of the waitstaff, and we weren't eve... View all feedback.
We called on Saturday for a takeaway but they were too busy so weren’t doing them, so had on on Sunday instead (to which we thought: ah great that shows they’re priority is quality not quantity). The only think we can imagine is that the head chef was nit working, because the food was worse than your average takeaway. We were sooo excited to try the muntjac vindaloo, expecting to get the milk out the fridge, and whilst the meat was nice and soft, the curry sauce had very little flavour and certainly zero spice. In fact the samosa was spicier. The butter chicken.. usually a safe choice.. tasted just like Heinz cream of tomato soup. The pilau rice may as well have been from Tesco. The mushroom dish was actually quite nice, but that was about it. The rest was bland and average. Such a shame especially given all the good reviews.
Third time that we have dined here and have never been disappointed. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great service. One of the best Indian restaurants I have experienced. Highly recommended.
Loved this place. We started with a mosaic IPA and a generously poured Old Fashioned. The starters of lamb seekh kebab and paneer were good, though could have used a bit of side salad and more seasoning on the paneer. But the mains were a highlight. Highly recommended the fish curry and saag aloo. Couldn't finish it all so took it home. Lovely stuff. Pricey, but worth it for the lovely surroundings.
GreT food pleasant staff drinks a bit dear but overall good value
The place was so nice. We have ordered Lamb biriyani, King prawns, Chicken korma, vegetable samosa and steamed rice. Thr biriyani had authentic Indian flavour(more south indian) with accurate amount of spices and the taste were exactly matching the indian style of food. The lamb pieces were properly boiled in biriyani. Chicken Korma has good amount of spiciness. If you wanna try authentic Indian food this place is a go and they do have better taste Compared to the Indian restaurants in UK.
