The Restaurant is located in an old house (hence the name) already 300 years old. There are only about 10 tables on two levels. The upper level ceiling where we were sitting is only 6 or 7 feet high. The place has a special character und is very 'gemütlich'. The limited menu lists typical swabian food e.g maultaschen and spätzle. We didn 't like the ouside sitting area which on a hot summer day was affected by a bothersome smell from nearby rubbish bins. Service was ok but I would call it neither particularly friendly nor professional. Only local dishes such as Spätzle , Maultaschen (both typical Stuttgart area pasta dishes) and such are served. We had a soup with Maultaschen as a started which was very nice. The main course with meatballs was rather a let down. After such a disappointing main course we did not bother for dessert any more.

We choose the lunch special which was today 'Fleischküchle with spätzle resp potatoe salad' which came with a nice sauce. If you like swabian food, home made, in a nice atmosphere at reasonable prices, this is the place to go. Our overseas friends will enjoy it too. Service was swift and professionel.
Very good food and friendly, cozy atmosphere. Always happy.
Super delicious at fair price. The menu with mainly Swabian dishes is not very large, but the quality is right for it. We feel very comfortable both in the small garden and in the cozy guest room!
