Howev... read more We have been dining at Avellino's for many years and have always enjoyed it. We have celebrated a few New Year's Eves there and have had good experiences. However, this year was a letdown. It was our 41st anniversary on New Year's Eve and we were seated promptly at our reservation time. Our server was friendly, but it seemed like they were short-staffed. It took a while for our drink order to be taken and even longer for them to be brought to our table. One of the drinks was completely wrong and it took some effort to get it fixed. We ordered two appetizers, but they took too long to arrive and were lukewarm and not very tasty. Two of our main dishes were hot and enjoyable, but the other two were cold. It seemed like they were prepared in advance and refrigerated, but not reheated properly. Overall, it was a disappointing meal, which has never happened to us before at Avellino's. We are not sure what went wrong, but it was not up to the usual standard we expect from this restaurant, especially on special occasions. We will probably give Avellino's another chance in the future, but not anytime soon.

However, our recent experience on a busy Saturday night left much to be desired. The restaurant was understaffed and the service was painfully slow, particularly when it came to receiving our drinks. Our waitress did her best under the circumstances, but unfortunately, the halibut dish I ordered was excessively salty, likely due to the mushrooms. I ended up not finishing it, although the staff kindly removed it from our bill. Overall, it was a disappointing dining experience that fell short of our expectations.
