Was Alejandra Leuschke at Frying Nemo a mag?
Another full on day touring around Darwin (so much to do and see) and heard from locals to go here...wasn't disappointed we had Jewfish for 3 and chips. What Kassandra Pollich dislikes about Frying Nemo:
We visited Frying Nemos as tourist traveling from Melbourne. For dinner we got two pieces of flake and a regular chips with chicken salt which cost extra. All together this meal cost $28.50, whereas in Melbourne this could be purchased for half the price. Whilst I do understand that this may be the going rate in Darwin however the quality of the food was not worth the price paid. View all feedback.

Four of us had dinner here tonight after reading the great reviews. We were particularly looking forward to the chips after so many people were raving about them. The set up is nice and the views over the marina were lovely. We were initially served by a friendly girl, however part way through ordering, a man took over quite abruptly. We each ordered a piece of fish and small chips each and were quite rudely told one of the kinds of fish we wanted wasn't available and that we would have too many chips. This was appreciated however a little abrupt. The Jewfish in beer batter was moist flakey and nice and crispy, however the two serves of flake we had in tempura were the most toughest pieces of fish we have ever had and was comparable to chicken. The tempura batter was soggy and disappointing. The rustic chips were far too thick and not very nice at all and the straight cut chips were ok, but definitely nothing to rave about. We will definitely not return.

As well as being a really friendly guy, owner Eddy leads a focused and friendly team whose aim is to make your experience here as perfect as possible. We had a our last night in Darwin here and managed to well and truly feed a family of 4 including 2 teens for just over $50 plus drinks. Everything super fresh and cooked to perfection. Huge selection of seafood most local and wild as opposed to frozen imported.Fully licensed and right on the wharf. Watch the huge fish under the pier if eating at nighttime. We spotted a monster cod, Barra and a few stonefish. 5 minutes drive out of CBD close to the "duck pond."Highly recommend.

I'm a Darwin local and I eat at Frying Nemo a lot, and for good reason. I love the location and the ambience, overlooking the yachts on the marina. Plenty of free, off-street parking. I always receive a warm, friendly welcome and efficient service. The quality of the food is excellent, and this is on a consistent basis. I've never had a bad dining experience here. Can't recommend it enough.

I admit we went mainly because of the novelty of the ridiculous name but we were pleasantly surprised by how good it was.
