I recently enjoyed a delicious full English breakfast at Sainsbury's in Stroud. The food was excellently cooked and there was a generous portion size. My only concern was the lack of visible cleanliness and sanitation measures, otherwise I would have given it a 5-star rating. This visit was my first since before the COVID-19 pandemic. What User doesn't like about Sainsbury's Cafe:
I went to this restaurant with my children today and it was a terrible experience. The staff at the cafe seemed clueless and unorganized. I was charged over 6 pounds for a salmon fillet dinner. The salmon itself was okay, but the green beans and potatoes were overcooked and mushy. The French beans were undercooked and tough. The portion sizes were very small. The kids' meals were basically just a sausage and a tiny p... View all feedback.
The wait is usually terrible in caffe. this time it wasn't so great. but we waited almost an hour for our lunch, as other people are served in caffe. there are never enough personal in caffe, but clear. today not enough in the kitchen. a real scandal.
It's a good place to go when there's a lot of people waiting. If it is, the staffing levels just aren't suitable. The staff are competent, just not enough when the restaurant is very busy.
Tables, chairs and floors sticky and covered in various crumbs and food waste. Ordered a cappuccino, both the coffee and milk were burned (milk was resteamed three times before mine was made). Smoked salmon and scrambled egg bagel was incredibly dry, the bagel was not...buttered which wouldn’t have mattered if the scrambled egg hadn’t resembled the scrapings off the bottom of an omelette pan. Although expectations are low when visiting a supermarket market cafe, on this occasion both drink and food were not fit for purpose, therefore a waste of my money and their resources. A simple bit of barista and food prep training and a cleaner should be a priority for whoever manages this cafe.
Arrived today approx 11.30 for a quick coffee break as at work.Waited 20 minutes to be served. Only one person taking orders and serving also cashier. Not acceptable service.
We are regularly here or stopped for coffee. The quality has declined dramatically and the staff seem to have limited training/experience. Getting served is slow. The staff are always friendly but seem unable to manage. Shame as it’s a nice cafe that is no longer...on our list to visit!
