The Taal restaurant in Strathaven has been making waves with its newly introduced vegan menu, offering fantastic food and huge portions with friendly staff and a beautiful location overlooking a water flow. Highlight dishes include the sweet samosa and jalandhri curry, along with the delicious vegan naan. The restaurant has received high praise for its ability to cater to vegans while still offering traditional meat dishes. Customers have raved about the quality of the food, with some recommending specific dishes like the lamb and various curries. Though there were a few minor issues with service for some patrons, the overall consensus is that Taal is a must-visit spot in Strathaven for delicious Indian cuisine.

We had a great family meal before the fireworks show. It was our first time at this restaurant, so we relied on some reviews which were all positive. The service was a bit slow, but understandable as the restaurant was really busy. The food was delicious, not greasy, and free from artificial dyes. The flavors were fantastic and the portion sizes were good. We would recommend this place and will definitely be back with other family members.

We booked our table a week in advance for 5 adults and our 10month old baby. The booking was for 5.30pm on a Sunday, thinking that we would have some dinner and get back home around 7.30pm, on time for our baby’s bath time. How wrong we were! We waited for our food for 1 hour and 50 minutes! (Yes. Nearly 2 hours!!! When I went to ask why it was taking so long, (considering that there were maybe 5-6 tables with people in the whole restaurant the waitress behind the bar said that they were very busy with all their takeaway orders. Well, that was terrible customer service. So if you turn up to have a sit in meal, you come second! Takeaway orders have priority! Well, it doesn’t say this anywhere! I am not keen to return.

Greeted by an unsmiling man who showed us to our table. 4 adults and a toddler, tables given were one square and one circular

Been to Taal a few times, both dine in and takeaway. Mixed bag of service and food quality but we thought we would give another chance...... 1 hour 30 mins to arrive (initially informed 40 minutes) with 2 calls to chase, assured after each call it was a couple of mins away (just not true). When it arrived, food was luke warm and the lamb was so tough and overcooked that it could not be eaten. Not a fan of receiving pass-off comments of it 's 2 minutes away when it 's simply not true. So, in summary, similar experience to previous visits.
