The Red Rabbit is now in its third season. We dined there for the first time last year and eagerly returned again this August. The restaurant is employee owned and it shows in the great cuisine and service. We started with the Jerk Cauliflower and Marinated Beef Salad, continued with the Slow Roasted Duck Leg and Vegetarian Pirogi, and concluded with the Ginger Cookie and Strawberry Pie. What Brian Lapierre doesn't like about The Red Rabbit:
The quality of the food did not match the price point. We ordered the pickerel special $40) and Khao Soi Gai $35), and for that cost would expect something excellent. However it was very simple, a seared piece of fish with under seasoned steamed vegetables and admittedly tasty) mashed potatoes. Will definitely be making the 45 minute drive into Stratford for this amazing spot! We all really enjoyed the theatre menu and our server was amazing he explained every dish perfectly and respected our 8pm show time. I can’t wait to return and explore the other menu items!
Stopped in with a friend tonight and thoroughly enjoyed the Red Rabbit. The decor is fun and interesting, seating was comfortable, our server was excellent. He answered all of our questions about the menu (which was interesting and very appetizing) and was on top of our drinks. We never ran out of water. The food was delicious. The fries and veggie burger were excellent. I will be returning
A creative menu with interesting flavours. The cocktails are perfectly crafted and delicious. Staff are attentive and friendly, this is an employee owned facility and you can feel the pride! Good wine selection, the dinner biscuits are exceptional and the chocolate cake dessert divine! Appetizers, especially the squid and fried green tomatoes are wonderful. The mains are especially delicious. A well priced, friendly place, good food and certainly a destination when in Stratford.
This was one of the best meals I've ever had. We went for the after theatre menu and the chicken and steak were amazing. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We'll be back for sure!
