What richgreenwood doesn't like about The Blue Lias Inn:
Popped in for dinner, not very busy, huge outdoor garden area by the canal but old fashioned and uncomfirtable wooden tables and benches. Quite a restrictive menu, everything seems to come with chips. Not a proper pie it's a casserole with false pastry lid. So ordered cattage pie, which comes with chips, potato with chips!! Also it's in a lovely location but in the middle of nowhere and does not offer customers WiFi.... View all feedback. What Foodie3965 likes about The Blue Lias Inn:
We had an unexpectedly great visit to the restaurant. We initially tried to go to the Boat, but were greeted by a unfriendly woman who told us it was closed. We drove a few miles and found the lias instead. It was a lovely and unassuming place with the best steak pie we've ever had! The staff were warm and friendly, and there was none of the strange 'locals only' vibe that we had encountered before. Bravo to this res... View all feedback.

read moreNestled along the tranquil canal, this pub-restaurant offers a picturesque outdoor setting that charms visitors. While the old-fashioned decor and hanging baskets add to its appeal, the dining experience falls short. The menu is limited, predominantly featuring dishes served with chips, and critics note that some meals taste pre-prepared and lacking freshness. Despite friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere, issues such as long wait times and overpriced, basic food detract from the overall experience. However, many guests find solace in the lovely scenery and communal spirit, making it a delightful stop for drinks and a casual bite.
