This was our first visit since the restaurant reopened, apart from a takeaway order. Although they somehow couldn't find our table reservation, they were able to accommodate all six of us. Overall, the food was excellent, although some sides, like the potato dauphinoise, were not available. The staff took a little while to inform us of this, but they did provide alternatives. I found the staff to be very friendly, although there were a couple of things that seemed a bit off. For example, we weren't offered a cooler or ice bucket when we ordered prosecco, and it would have been nice if someone had filled our glasses initially. We had to ask for the cooler ourselves. The main courses came out a bit irregularly, but they all arrived within five minutes of each other. We really enjoyed the desserts! Overall, I would recommend this place. The portion sizes were quite generous. Taking everything into account, I would give it a rating of 3.5 out of 5. We had a great time and shared plenty of laughs!
Brilliant place. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Brilliant place to take young ones as they have toys to occupy if they start acting up. Food is flawless and really interesting menu! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Vegetarian options: During my visit to Cammies Restaurant, I had the pleasure of experiencing a delightful vegetarian Sri Lankan meal. The meal was a vibrant medley of flavors, colors, and textures that showcased the richness of Sri Lankan cuisine. The star of the plate was a perfectly spiced lentil dhal curry, complemented by a fragrant coconut-infused rice. Accompanying the main dish were tangy mango chutney, crispy papadums, and a refreshing cucumber sambol that provided a cooling contrast to the spices. The highlight was a bold and flavorful jackfruit curry, with its tender, meaty texture. Every bite carried the warmth of traditional Sri Lankan spices like turmeric, cumin, and mustard seeds. The presentation was equally enticing, with an array of small dishes served on a banana leaf. The meal was not only satisfying but also a true celebration of vegetarian Sri Lankan cuisine in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Been cammies for Christmas eve dinner and I pleased and honoured with the service and of course d food. For starter I ordered salmon terrine which was so delicious that I asked for more, which they happily cater. Dont jurge me, I m foodie). For main it was buffet style which was great as I made 3 rounds . The salmon was outstanding . For dessert I had lemon posset which came in lemon shell wat a talent, hats off for d chef). Over all everything went quite really well except one thing. The table next to us was a big group) was quite annoying as I hot lady was getting so hot that she was just getting annoyed and complaining with everything at the venue ...she was a bit of free entertainment/drama for the whole venue as I missed sit down comedy alot. Hope she made her family and friends proud by putting such a beautiful show, specially on festive days...mind blowing act..I will nominate her for Oscar . Over all enjoyed at cammies, the service was outstanding with a smile even though it was busy night... And will be at cammies soon. Last and not the least m proud of the owner for bringing cammies back to new life, it's like rebirth of cammies.i m not from stonehaven but you made stonehaven and local community proud..and will be back soon for sea food..
