By far the best and consistent 2 star restaurant that I know, time and time again an absolutely wonderful experience. Food, service, location and above all price simply unmatched

It is definitely a very high end restaurant very professional service very well executed dishes, mostly on the classic side great wine list beautiful place, very classic Swiss lots of nice little extras (very good bread, nice amuse bouches) lots of local producesBUT service (as often in these small ish Swiss restaurants) is WAY too slow the prices are super high...even for Switzerland...at this price, one might expect a bit more innovation/wahoo factorStarter of foie gras terrine and bouchee was well made though nothing dramatic (the brioche was nice)Next cod with pea on verjus : nice contrast of flavors, but the fish was a little bit underwhelmingThen lobster carpaccio on risotto with rouille : this was excellent, fantastic mix of textures and flavours, each one enhancing the otherFinally the veal with home made mash potato : I thought the veal was spectacular, super tender and the thyme sauce giving it an extra kickWe passed on cheese (already 3 hours at the table) and got served the desert of sour cream tarts with local strawberries : I was underwhelmedOverall had a great diner because of company and wine, and the food was very good, but for close to CHF 200 per head (and in the middle of nowhere), I cant say it is good value...will I go back ? not sure....

The restaurant itself is located in a building that is approaching its third centenary so from the moment that you enter, there is a certain antique charm. The dining room with its low ceilings and exposed beams and wood panelling is a particularly warm and cosy environment. The same warmth and hospitality continues with the service which is very attentive. The cuisine is classically French which in my opinion can never be a bad thing, in fact it is infinitely preferable to the world of sous vide cooking and molecular gastronomy. The sauces were sauces that took time to make and develop their flavour using traditional techniques you won't find any foams here! Even the dessert course showcased wonderful pastry work and finesse. Bread and cheese served from a trolley table side were another nice touch and not something that you see all that often these days. The kitchen here is also very focused on using as much local produce as possible and with each course the origins of the key elements was explained, which also showcased the knowledge of the front of house team too. This is a restaurant where the chef is interested in producing beautiful plates of food that absolutely deliver on flavour; nothing is too complex in terms of the number of main ingredients and as a result the flavours are precise yet also retain the necessary complexity. If you want to enjoy traditional haute cuisine served in charming surroundings then you need to ensure that you dine here!
